Are there accommodations for students of other faiths?

Catholic colleges place an emphasis on inclusion, taking pride in diversity in their student body. Many, if not all Catholic colleges make some sort of accommodations for students of other faiths to make sure they feel supported and welcomed.

Some possible accommodations that a Catholic college may provide for students of other religions are prayer rooms and worship services. Many Catholic colleges will provide students of other religions with space for them to worship, pray, and fellowship with others of their faith. Sometimes they may even organize chapel services for those of a different religion.

Another possibility is that the Catholic colleges may offer some sort of service that can transport students to and from nearby places of worship. This way the student can engage with their religious community apart from and not have to worry about finding transportation.

Some Catholic colleges will also have academic accommodations in place that may allow students to reschedule exams or assignments that conflict with religious holidays that they observe. The dietary options available at the cafeteria or school restaurants usually also reflect support for other religions, with halal, kosher, vegetarian, and vegan options almost always offered.

Interfaith offices and resource centers are also offered at some Catholic colleges to provide students of different religions more hands on support for any questions or issues they may have. Additionally, non-discrimination policies are in place that protect students of different religions from harassment or discrimination.

It is important to note that not every Catholic college will offer the same accommodations. To find out what sort of accommodations are available at a Catholic college, check the website or inquire with an admissions officer of the college(s) you are interested in.
