A Catholic college is defined by its commitment to the person of Christ and creating a likeness of Him in each of its students, and academic excellence. The goal of education at a Catholic college is the formation and development of the whole person, spiritually, physically, and academically. The central aim of their education is to prepare students to be disciples of Christ, serving Him in their communities and careers post-graduation.
A large part of their education is learning to understand the world and themselves through the Catholic faith. This education and environment can include the doctrines of Catholicism, such as the Seven Holy Sacraments and communion and the theology behind it. Additionally, at a Catholic college, it is commonplace (and often expected) that the faculty be of the Catholic faith.
